Date: 30 April 2020 We take a look at data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) that shows that in September 2019 there were 2.7 million people working in grocery stores across the United States. That's a significant number of people, and one wonders how many of them will still have a job post the Covid-19 epidemic.

Grocery stores play a crucial role in our communities, providing access to food, medicine, and other provisions; generating jobs; driving economic growth; and helping to ensure their products and services are available during times of need. There were 89,248 establishments in the grocery stores industry in September 2019, with 2,656,848 workers.
