According to Google Trends, the most searches relating to Coronavirus in the USA happened between 15-21 March 2020. Since then there has been a gradual decline in the number of searches for Coronavirus in the United States.

And the worrying issue for the United States is that the number of confirmed Coronavirus cases is set to increases substantially from its current numbers, especially in hot spots in the United States such as New York, California and Washington. New York state is currently the epicentre of the USA Coronavirus pandemic, with more than 50 000 deaths in the United States.
While countries across the world go into full lockdown, major Coronavirus hotspots in the USA are not in full lock down yet. But it is a difficult balance to strike between for governments in deciding to closing down areas, counties, states or countries or keeping them open, as closing down areas, counties, states or countries has a significant impact on employment and economic activity. The interactive map below shows the number of confirmed Coronavirus cases per state in the United States for the last couple of days. Currently the bulk of the cases is clustered in 3 states, and they are the New York, Washington and California. The number of cases in New York spiked significantly from the 21 March 2020 to 22 March 2020, with it increasing by 34.8% or 4 083 cases.
